The variety of landscapes and natural history experienced along the Ape Canyon trail make this an experience not to miss. We will wind our way uphill through old-growth forests, showing us what the mountain used to look like before the eruption. We emerge from the forest to a view of ancient lava flows leading to the summit of Mount St Helens. After enjoying views and photographing Ape Canyon, a deep slot canyon dropping steeply to the east, we will top out at treelined to take in stunning views of Mount Adams and Mount Hood, while standing on Mount St Helens. Professional photography technique and composition instruction and coaching included.
